A short history of the East Kent Buddhist Group
An ordained Buddhist named Danapriya, after living at the London Buddhist Centre for nine years, moved to Deal. On realising that Deal did not have a Buddhist group, he decided to give a public talk at the Royal Hotel in August 2007. Nearly eighty people attended that event which led to what we have today: three regular public events each week, festival days, study groups, and retreats, as well as ten ordained members living in the area and a thriving Buddhist sangha.
