Introduction to Buddhism & Study Groups

Introduction to Buddhism & Study Groups

We periodically host Introduction to Buddhism short courses as well as weekly and fortnightly study groups

In addition to our regular classes, we offer study groups for those wanting to explore Buddhism in more depth.

We have several friendly and supportive study groups following Year 1 and Year 3 of the Triratna Mitra Study Course. Some are online and some are in person.

If you are interested in joining these and would like to be put on the waiting list please email: ekbuddhists@gmail.com for further details.

We also run a Post Year 4 online study group open to anyone who has completed the 4 year Triratna Mitra Study Course. We explore a range of subjects, sometimes we choose modules from the Mitra course, recently we read through the Yogi’s Joy and currently we are looking at texts from the Pali Canon.  We meet on Zoom every Friday morning 10.30-12.15 and you are welcome to join us for just one module at a time.
Contact Prajnasisya on 07952 882470.

As well as the Mitra Study courses we run short Introduction to Buddhism courses. Again please contact us if you are interested in joining one of these.

Our next Introduction to Buddhism Course:

Technology of Change: An Introduction to Buddhism & Meditation Course - Starting Wednesday 13 November

Can we really find happiness in more and more distraction, and having ever more stuff? Buddhism tells us that this won’t work – but that there is a real happiness to be found, if we look in the right place.

On this course you will learn the two most important Buddhist meditation practices, and try out some powerful Buddhist wisdom teachings that can change the way we see the world.

Using a combination of team-teaching, small-group discussion, meditation, and practical exercises, this course gives us the tools to become more like the person we want to be.

Taking place over 6 sessions at Sholden Village Hall, New Road, Sholden, Deal, CT14 0AH from 7-9PM on the following Wednesday evenings:
