Monday Drop-In Meditation Morning, Margate

Mondays 11am - 12:45pm at Camp (Queer Bar & Community Space)

We are offering a weekly Drop-In Monday Morning Meditation in Margate at the CAMP (Queer Bar & Community Space), 125 Northdown Road, Margate CT9 2QY, from 11:00am - 12:45pm.

Please note doors will close promptly at 11:15AM in order for meditation to begin, so please arrive before this time.

No experience is necessary and we will be teaching two meditation techniques: the Mindfulness of Breathing Practice and The Loving Kindness Practice. Suitable for those aged 18 and over.

This is a friendly class run by members of our group. Do join us.

Please note - on Bank Holiday Mondays this group will not meet.

Did you know? The Buddhist Centre hosts online meditations which are free to attend and welcome everyone. They offer two open meditation spaces daily, Monday to Saturday, via zoom.

Here’s what you need to know when you connect:

  • Sessions will last for 45 minutes.
  • ‘Open meditation’ means that none of the sessions each day will be guided. Just bring your own practice and meditate with us!
  • Zoom works in most web browsers, and you can also get free apps for all major mobile platforms too.
  • You don’t need to pay for an account to take part.

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

No - the class is suitable for everyone (aged 18 and above), especially those who are completely new to meditation and Buddhism.

Do I need to book?

No, you can just turn up…

What should I wear?

There are no special requirements, and we will be sitting on chairs. Just make sure you’ll be comfortable to sit for the length of the meditation. You may wish to bring a blanket if it is cold.

How much does the class cost?

A suggested donation of £5, but you will still be welcome if you are unable to make a donation.
