Sangha Evening in Deal

Sangha Evening in Deal

Most Wednesdays, 7-9PM, Sholden Village Hall, Deal, CT14 0AH - (please see below for individual event dates)

Our regular Sangha Evenings are held in-person in Deal on Wednesday evenings. (In Buddhism Sangha means ‘community’). We ask for a donation of £8 (or what you can afford) to help with venue hire. There is usually a card machine available to take payments.

Our Sangha Evenings are suitable for people aged 18+ who know the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana Meditations.

We usually have a lightly led meditation and a talk. Once a month we include a pūjā (ritual).

There is also a chance each week for a cuppa and a catch up at the break! Drinks and biscuits are provided.

We announce our weekly events along with our Zoom code (for occasional online weeks) in our regular mailings.

Our Future Sangha Evenings:

On the first Wednesday of the month there is no Sangha Evening at Sholden Village Hall - please email ekbuddhists@gmail.com if you wish to organise something, eg a walk (weather permitting), a short meditation on the beach, or a meeting in someone's house etc.

Dates for your diary:

Wednesday 20th March:

Our Sangha Evening will coincide with the spring, or vernal, equinox.

It is a time of balance, the earth not tilted away or towards the sun, and daylight and darkness of equal length. The equinox represents a time of fertility and renewal.  A time when seeds are sown, plants take nourishment from the earth and sun and accelerate their growth, leaves and blossom emerge, birds, animals and insects become more active, and we too have more energy and move towards light, warmth and new inspiration.

We hope you can join us on Wednesday to mark the equinox. Please bring something you would like to share with others to celebrate this time of year, such as a poem, a reading, a piece of music, picture, photo…and perhaps say a little about its meaning for you.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Prajnasisya, Maddava and the team.

Wednesday 27th March:

Our March evening of Puja (ritual).

Please note, we will soon add more details to each of these events. Thank you, and we hope to see you throughout March.
