A message from Karen:

Hi to all my spiritual friends in Deal and East Kent!

Moving to Worcester has been great as I have been able to retire and turn toward my Dharma life more fully.

As part of that I wanted to do something to raise funds for the new Tiratanaloka Centre as we need more great ordained women to lead us and teach us on our paths! The current centre has out-grown demand and there are ambitious plans for enabling 60 participants at a time to train!

Inspired and supported by the Deal Vision Team and wanting to work with Gerry and Bryony from my TFO group - we agreed to support a joint fundraising project - I may have laid my hat in Worcester but my heart is still in Kent!!

So you will find we three women in our third age are connecting three centres - Deal, Worcester and Birmingham - great support and fundraising skills coupled with my commitment to train and walk 30+ miles, or circa 77,000 steps from the Worcester Sangha to the Birmingham Sangha along the canal and through the cities - over the 2 days of 13th and 14th of May. The target is £5000!! So sponsor me 16 strides for a £1 or 160 strides for £10, or whatever you can afford.

Having not walked more than 2 hours since my back and hip surgery this will be quite a challenge! And every penny donated will be motivating me to train and suceed. Bryony and Gerry have similar physical constraints but hope to join me on a leg (!) or two! (No pun intended!!!)

Check out the Just Giving page for progress and training fund raising updates! As well as cute small dog training support photos!!

I have done what I can. I have started the Order, started the Movement. It is up to you. The future of the Order, of the Movement, is in your hands.'
