Do you enjoy being in Nature sitting quietly by the sea?

Every Friday morning from 7:30-8:15am we meditate on Deal beach opposite the Paddling Pool and Cedars surgery (CT14 7DN) watching the sunrise.

If you prefer to join us on Zoom, please arrive by 7.25AM.

We do a simple mindfulness practice where we tune into our breathing and become aware of the elements around us, the wind on our skin, the warmth of the sun and the solidity of the earth beneath us.

No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome. We will be there rain or shine so please bring warm clothes and something to sit on.

Did you know? The Buddhist Centre hosts online meditations which are free to attend and welcome everyone. They offer two open meditation spaces daily, Monday to Saturday, via zoom.

Here’s what you need to know when you connect:

  • Sessions will last for 45 minutes.
  • ‘Open meditation’ means that none of the sessions each day will be guided. Just bring your own practice and meditate with us!
  • Zoom works in most web browsers, and you can also get free apps for all major mobile platforms too.
  • You don’t need to pay for an account to take part.

Do I need to book?

No, just turn up!

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

No - the class is suitable for everyone, especially those who are completely new to meditation and Buddhism.

What should I wear?

There are no special requirements, just make sure you'll be comfortable to sit for the length of the meditation. It can be pretty cold in the morning so wrap up warm.

How much does the class cost?

We don't charge for our classes, and the team are not paid for their time. We simply ask that those who are able to do so make a donation to the centre to help us cover our running costs.
