We run classes in meditation and Buddhism in East Kent. With members of the Triratna Buddhist Community.
For further information, or to join our mailing list, please email us at email@example.com
Our events will be held either on zoom or in person, depending on the current situation. We announce each week’s events, along with the venue or Zoom code, in our regular mailings.
Suitable for all levels of experience, beginners welcome. We will have a led meditation followed by a 30 minute discussion session in which we will explore some basic Buddhist ideas.
Our regular sangha evenings are held every Wednesday, from 7 to 9 pm, and are suitable for people who know the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana meditation practices. We usually have a lightly led meditation and a talk and once a month we include a puja.
In person when we are allowed to meet outside, so do please come with your own seat and wrap up warm. We meet on the beach next to the paddling pool and Cedars Surgery, MARINE ROAD, CT14 7DN. There are public toilets nearby if needed. The meditation is also broadcast on Zoom.
If you have any queries please phone or text 07952 882470 especially if it’s raining and you want to know if anyone is there.
There are a number of opportunities to study the Dharma online, for beginners and for those those who want to go deeper. They are all based around the published Triratna Dharma Study modules, the materials for which can be accessed at thebuddhistcentre.com/mitra. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
We also run an informal study group looking at texts in their original language of Pali, for which no previous experience is necessary.
All these classes and events are completely free, though donations are welcome and bank details are supplied in our regular emails.
